Dr. Jay Hollingsworth grew up in Knoxville, graduating from Carter High School. He attended UNC - Chapel Hill for his undergraduate education and the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry for his doctorate. In his spare time he likes to run, play disc golf, play tennis, and play chess.

Before starting Grassy Creek Dental, he gained valuable experience in a wide range of dentistry, including practicing in a pediatric practice, a cosmetic practice, and a denture practice.

He has completed extensive continuing education in cosmetic dentistry and full arch reconstruction from the Dick Barnes Group. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Tennessee Dental Association, and the Second District Dental Society. He is an active member of a Spear Study Group.
